Stories From the Farm
What We’re Hearing This Season
Each year, Bonnefield’s Property Management team travels more than 30,000 kilometres to visit each of our properties and meet with the farmers who operate them. These visits offer a perspective that data alone cannot provide. By walking the fields, observing crop conditions, and hearing directly from the producers, we gain valuable insight into the challenges, opportunities, and decisions shaping our tenants’ operations and the Canadian agricultural industry, more broadly.
This year, tenant sentiment has been rather positive, despite the concerns around trade and tariff uncertainty. Crop conditions have been favourable across much of Canada and harvest expectations remain encouraging. Many operators are using the season to focus on practical improvements to strengthen and position their businesses for future growth. While input costs and tighter credit conditions remain part of the discussion, they have not changed the long-term outlook of Bonnefield’s partner farmers and continue to showcase the resiliency of Canadian operators and farmland.
